This site is designed to provide support for "reading across the curriculum" in grades 5-8. It contains downloadable documents for various strategies (e.g., think aloud, SQ3R, gist, K-W-L), downloadable lesson plans to teach each strategy, and other useful resources.



Reading Recovery
The website of the Reading Recovery Council of North America provides information about reading recovery resources and training.



The National Reading Panel
The National Reading Panel assesses the status of research-based knowledge (of reading development and disability), including the effectiveness of various approaches to teaching children to read.

International Reading Association
This website is for the International Reading Association and provides a wide variety of resources for teaching reading.
